Just pretend I have pictures
Blogger has been having an issue uploading pictures for a few days, so I haven't really been posting because everything involves pictures.
Picture #1: I got a bunch of new stuff from Scrapgal.com yesterday. TONS of cute paper from 3 Bugs in a Rug, Sassafrass Lass, American Crafts and Heidi Grace. Got some cute HG rub ons and Maya Road chipboard. Cute, cute, cute.
Picture #2: Went to get my hair cut/colored yesterday, and ended up getting about 4" cut off. I did blonde/dark brown on top and dark brown underneath. Also got the heck layered out of it. I was so tired of this super thick, super heavy hair that just hung like a wet blanket. Most days it ended up tied in a wannabe bun thing because I just didn't have the time to straighten it. This is so much more manageable.
Picture #3: SIL and I went to the Scrapbook Expo today. I haven't been too impressed with the last few, so we weren't sure what to expect. It was definitely worth the drive and the $6 ticket. Several booths had these $1 and $2 bins; older stuff, but still worth buying. We went nuts for one booth that offered the cutest ribbon for anywhere from .50 to $1 a roll. We went from one roll of ribbon to another, shrieking with joy. A dollar? Fifty cents? What a bargain! SIL spent over $20 (she bought a few non ribbon items) and I got away with $8.50. I've already sorted my ribbons into their color coded jars, and man...do they look cute!
Hubby just took the kids to the pool, so I guess I should take advantage of the quiet and start playing with all these new goodies!

Look what the mailman brought today
I know some of these products have been out for a while, but they're new to me! I finally got the Fontwerks stamps (yeah!) , the Fancy Pants chipboard flowers, and one of the American Crafts Pigment Pro pens (they're supposed to write smoothly on Bazzill).
I have another order that should be coming sometime this week, too. Can't wait!

New clothes and dance classes
Bought this last week for school...I thought this sweater and shoes would look so cute with the little uniform skirts and dresses. I also ordered a couple pairs of the microfiber tights...they hold up so much better than those cheap ones. The items I bought are cranberry red and are so bright and cheery. I just hope the shoes hold up ok.
Took miss S to sign up for a jazz dance class today. I bought her these pants at Target yesterday (along with two sparkly tanks) and we went to Payless for some jazz shoes tonight. Hopefully she likes it, since I signed her up for 10 weeks!
We also spent about an hour this afternoon signing loan docs for our refi. This time we did a 30 year loan, so hopefully we won't have to do this again. One little benefit is that we won't have a September payment next month, which will give us some more money for our Disneyland trip. We're going to try and do the Fantasmic dessert buffet this time, and at $52 a person we'll need the extra dough!
Ok...time to get these kids into bed. We're going to try and be up and ready by 8:30am tomorrow, in preparation for back to school. We've been on a "stay up late, get up late" schedule, which isn't going to cut it next week. Actually, they're the easy ones...I'm the one that needs to go to bed on time. Wish me luck!

Slacker
Yes...I have been a slacking blogger lately. Things have pretty much been that way around here since school got out. Fortunately that will all be changing next week ...not that I'm excited or anything.
Had a good weekend; Friday my mom went with me to a doctors appointment, went out for breakfast afterwards, then picked up S and we all got pedicures. Saturday morning I was out of the house bright and early to run some errands. Got to Costco too early so I hit Trader Joe's and Starbucks, went back to Costco and realized I'd left my card at home. After that I hit the lss and went over to Cost Plus to get some more of these cute canisters that were on clearance. Came home and hubby and I went out for our anniversary. We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then saw Pirates of the Caribbean. Saturday night my SIL came over and we cropped for a few hours.
Speaking of scrapbooking...I am one of those zones right now where it's all I want to do. You know how every once in a while you get totally enthralled with it? Since I was considering getting rid of all my stuff a few weeks ago, this is a huge change and I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
Right now I'm waiting for M to come home from my folks house; both kids spent Saturday night with them, they took him last night and are planning on taking S tonight (one of the definite perks of living near family). I had planned on getting up early this morning in preparation for back to school, but as I predicted I slept in until 9:00am. Tomorrow will be better...must start tomorrow.
And with that I'm off to bid on a Provo Craft Silent Setter which has about 5 minutes left on eBay. My little anywhere punch went into the trash the other night...too many years of abuse. I'm also waiting for two orders of new scrapbooking goodies to arrive this week.
My mom just called and said M wants to stay another night, so that means another free night for me! I probably should be wondering why my kids don't want to be with me, but I'm not. :)

Do you feel the power?
I didn't, all morning today. Got up around 7am because I had massive cramps (TMI warning--you know when you can actually feel your ovaries moving? It was that kind of pain) and wanted nothing more than to lie on the couch with the heating pad completely covering my lower half. That worked for about 15 minutes, until I noticed the power was only half on. Not too much later we had no power. Add to this the fact that I stayed up until 2am cropping, and I was a mess. Poor dh was trying to sleep and I'm crying about my cramps, wondering if we're the only ones and if so, how much would it cost to redo electrical in the whole house?
I pulled my shit together, took a shower, and went across the street to see if my neighbors were affected as well. Before I'd even knocked, she opened the door and said that there are 22 people on our street without power. I had actually called PG&E when this happened and the woman I talked to was a real beeyotch (not that I was a ray of sunshine at the moment) so I wasn't counting on her help. Fortunately one of the other neighbors has connections and he was able to get someone out here right away.
So four hours later we have full power and the overall mood in the house is much better. It's amazing what you can get done with no TV/internet. I'd say I almost wish it wasn't on yet, but it would be completely untrue. Plus it's supposed to be in the low 90's today and I need my AC.
Oh yeah...it's my 9th anniversary! I'll scan a wedding pic and post the mushy details later. Right now I'm going to bask in the fact that we're back in the 21st century. :)

Reviews and more
Sorry for not updating with the movie review last Friday. We got home late Thursday night and I spent all day Friday getting ready for a weekend crop at my house.
The movie was very well done (Nick Cage actually did a decent job of acting) and I cried. A lot. It's weird when you see these kinds of movies though; some people walk out like they've just seen an Adam Sandler flick, and others look like me...complete with red face and watery eyes. It wasn't overly depressing, but it reminded you of how people came together on 9/11...in my lifetime I've never seen anything like it.
On Friday night the girls got here and we stayed up until about 2am cropping. Saturday we took a little break for a shopping trip...we went to a local store and then to Michael's. I spotted these totes and thought that even at the full price of $19.99 they were a really good deal (and really, really cute). I passed on buying one and decided I'd save my coupon this week and go next week and buy one. Then I started panicking that they'd be all gone, so I decided to go back today and check out the supply. I was shocked to find that all of the green and pink ones were gone, and there were only two blue ones left! One of those was stained and I bought the last one. The cashier was nice enough to offer me the 40% discount, and I swear I almost leapt over the counter to kiss her. This little tote has so many cool compartments, and underneath is a zippered one with a little tray in it. Too cute! I can't wait to use my new toy:
